Therapist & Author

Nathan Sellers, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Nathan grew up in Colorado loving art and creativity. In elementary school, his 5th-grade teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. His answer? “I want to be an author.” That early ambition didn’t get as much attention as the swim practices, art classes, stop-motion animation attempts, and other childhood and adolescent interests. However, the love of creation and creativity has always been an integral part of his identity.

Nathan got his Associate Degree in Fine Art, and during that time learned to take a closer look at shapes, colors, contours, as well as how all those things fit together into a bigger picture. His refined artistic skills shaped much more than just his art. They influenced his perspectives on life. This may have influenced the impression he had to switch his major to become a mental health therapist.

Since 2001 he has loved working with youth to help them understand the meaning and purpose in their lives, recenter their priorities, and work through and heal from their mental health challenges. In 2008, he received his Master’s in Social Work and became a therapist to help youth and families heal. Seeing the change and growth in these individuals has been one of his major joys and passions in life.

In 2011, ideas for books and stories that would not only entertain, but teach and guide the reader, began flooding into his mind. He worked off and on with the writing process and spent the next 10 years learning and refining the craft. Just before the COVID pandemic in 2020, Nathan began writing SIGHT. The idea had pressed upon him for a couple of years and he knew he needed to write it. In that moment, an author was born.

Nathan’s goal is to help others learn to heal and grow in their relationships with themselves and others. He believes we all have an important purpose in this life, and that we can’t achieve our highest purposes without living in greater harmony with the other humans around us.
